Management
Coaching and Assistance
The implementation
of any new process requires behavioral changes. Deploying Project Management,
for the first time in an enterprise or for the first time with a project
team is no different. EnterSource experience proves that the most successful
transitions to a Project Management mindset occur when a mentor is assigned
to the leader. This mentor coaches the leader in the procedural changes
that need to occur, in methods of dealing with different people in varying
situations and in multi-cultural environments. The mentor provides reassurance
when the leader questions his own actions. The mentor provides strength
when the leader starts to wane. And the mentor is there to guide the leader
in an inconspicuous manner that never undermines the authority of the
leader.
Leaders
are required at all levels of a project team. Of course, the Project Manager
is a leader. But, so are the Project Controls Manager, the Planner/Scheduler,
the Cost Engineer and the Information Technologist. Each is a leader in
his or her specialty and each will benefit from a coach and mentor providing
the support to go down the right path the first time.
